Need some help. So I've been looking at ECU's and Im finding two different part numbers for them. My question is, is one going to be a TRD and the other NON TRD? An ebay one I saw was a TRD and the part number is 89661-0Y021. Then on a website where I'm looking up parts I also see 89661-0Y020.

@thefatkid, @lotsoftoys and anyone that can help.

No sir. U can't miss my truck. (Front chrome caps are getting wrapped next week while I save for a bumper. :)

@InSainFab can do both, or you can get one from @RelentlessFab and have InSainFab or someone else do it.

I'm not at work so I can't help now. Typically the part number last digit changes only when there is an update. The 2 numbers you list should interchange without issue.

He did mine too, but I don't have a quality pic of it on my phone. I can tell you it was done very cleanly.

Were you by chance near Superior today? 36 & McCaslin? I saw a similar Tundra driving the other way that had decals in a similar spot to your "Toytec" ones.

    That sucks Rebecca.

    Begin rant...
Toyota really fucked up trying to save a few pennies by doing away with that double cardan joint in the center, but that's just my opinion, along with the c channel frame.
I'm sure some have no issues, or maybe they refuse to acknowledge them, or they attribute them to something else. Doesn't change the fact that it is wrong.

I would have a double cardan joint made for the center U-joint connection and turn the rear pinion to be inline with the shaft afterwards. Or, more expensive, a new one piece shaft, again with a double cardan installed at the transfer case end. Either way, a double cardan joint is required.

There is no fucking way that a two piece shaft with three single u-joints can ever be made to run correctly. There is no other vehicle on the road that does this bullshit besides Toyota. Even long wheel base delivery vans with 2,3 and even 4 piece shafts have a double cardan somewhere in the mix.
All the shimming, rotating, balancing in the world won't change this one simple fact.
    End rant.
