My wife would give the same reaction, so I bought her a 4-runner, women love 4-runners. Now she wants new mods

So I'm thinking about extending the fuel range of the Tacoma without the use of fuel cans. http://www.pirate4x4.com/forum/toyota-truck-4runner/484247-who-used-ford-gas-tank-toyota.html

Looks like the F150 fuel tank from the mid 90s would be no bigger then the factory spare. My spare has been relocated to the bumper so I have some room to play with down there. To not loose any ground clearance I would have to remove/modify the rearmost factory cross member then build brackets to attach the tank. I like a ford fuel pump because they seem to fail less then the Delco units. I'll start junk yard hopping today. I'll use a very primitive tie in, just weld a nipple in the factory fill inlet and attach the ford in-tank pump to that. Not sure what I will use for evaporative emissions yet, if I will tie it into the factory system. Pump control will come from a switch on the switch-pro panel, a system to just refill the factory tank.

Then after that you will have room to link the truck. I know Dylan did something similar to Toytec's 4Runner with LT. @steezemcqueen

This will be an addition to the factory tank, so no links for me.

Ouch, that sucks. Rule #1 for mall crawling is never go up on anything higher than a curb.

    Yes
Just a shot in the dark here but look at the 99-04 grand Cherokee tanks as well.

Mounted inside a 1/8" thick skid stock in a location similar to where you want yours and mounting it should be a breeze though you might need to trim the skid and shorten the mounts for better clearance.

I was thinking the same thing. That front bumper is a work of art.
