There is a specific break in procedure for differentials. The gears must be heat cycled in a specific order/time.

I have used the meguiars interior cleaning solution for all of the dogs boogers and slobber, stuff has worked great.

I find if I lay the windex on really generously and then use roughly a roll of paper towels, that film will finally go away. If I'm sparse on the windex or I use a rag instead of paper towels, it just smears it around.

I was reading up on this for break-in/heat cycling preparing myself.

    http://eastcoastgearsupply.com/files/PDF Files/break-in-procedure.pdf

A lot more complicated then just going easy on it for a bit. Was wondering what this meant for the front diff though.

Seriously this is the best glass cleaner I've ever used. No streaks and cuts through whatever is on the windiest, no problem. Walmart carries it and it's not expensive.

Weird. I've used it for a long time now on my tint and it's done nothing but clean them perfectly.

It's funny you suggested this product because this is what I was using before windex and neither did the job. I figured this one didn't work cause it was cheap which is why I switched to windex.

Downside: Coworker put his 2 weeks notice in and they company is letting him go tomorrow.

Upside: I get his job, and maybe a raise

Downside: I'm looking to leave the company soon and have to wonder will they honor the two weeks notice or not......

Every where I worked, once a 2 week notice is put in they must be paid for it, even if they say pack up and go.

Sorry, I got busy at work and didn't have time to post that link. I recommend that for everything other then the gear oil (80-90 works). I also like to do 3 heat cycles with over an hour between rather then 20-30 minutes. I have measured diff temps over 160° on the housing while breaking in, I like it to be completely cool before I drive again.

for 4wd, either pull the rear drive shaft or only run with the t-case engaged when going straight.

Keep top speeds below 55ish MPH for break in, I try for 45 top speed.

I think I'll just take a whole day and a network of dirt county roads and break them in in 4WD. Spending this much money I want to make sure the break in is done as good as possible.

Gear oil selection any different given the front ARB? I thought I read that they recommend 85-140 too.

Unfortunately not at my company :(

Luckily if I put my two weeks in my company has to rush to fill my position and get someone trained as there are only two people that do my job at my company and we are both 100%+ billable

@Gramps you just installed some was your material on the cheaper end of sound deadening product?
