Hey guys. I wanted to see if you guys had some insight on where to do a little camping in an isolated area. My family will be around the Denver area and there should be around 13 of us. Only 3 or 4 vehicles. I've read a little about Guanella Pass and Jone's Pass Road, not familiar though.

Don't want to go too crazy wheeling if I can as I will have my aging parents along. Some 4WD would be fun though. Any ideas? This is for mid June.

@TacoVio this is how it's set up. I have it connected to a plate for the antenna.

So from your antenna stud to a bolt on the hood hinge and than a fender bolt? Looks like a well grounded solution with plenty of plain too! Thank you! I am gonna go look for something like that at the parts store :hattip:

Just got them, so i will find out, but based on everything i read from other people they really like them.

I had @HeliMedic install his new dual passenger battery tray and system everything will be buttoned up tm. Decided to run the same batteries for simplicity. Plus not knowing, but i live 5 mins from him. I like the fact the battery is easy to secure and the handle folds flat keeps things clean.

Of course now you consider a group buy after i just got mine. :annoyed:

Mid June might still be a bit cold on Guanella Pass. Go further south into Buena Vista or maybe the sand dunes. Unfortunately I camp in small groups so a good sized area to camp 13 isn't coming up in my head yet.

No worries! At least my battrey setup will be done and going forward anything i add will easy to power.

The north stars i was considering but had already ordered the first battery before i noticed the GB.

Now im just trying to decide on a suspension lift i want. Waiting to see what you have planned next for the suspension GB. The fox are tempting tho so many choices been going back in forth on fox or boss or maybe somthing else. Been reading the suspension thread to much.

We got one of those for my dad's truck when he destroyed the cables (shutting in doors) on the cheap-o magnet mounts we had around and we got tired of the one long whip we had from God knows when or where falling over/off because it had a weak magnet. I found it through some radio dealer in... FL? GA? Don't remember now. Nice antenna. And that magnet is going nowhere.

I missed all the radio chatter. ..

I like the cobra 75. Hasn't given me a bit of trouble.

I also have a <$100 ham setup with a boefeng (sp) and a mag mount antenna. It seems to hit all the repeaters just fine. Also runs frs and murs when someone doesn't have a cb but they have a walky talky.

Still need to get my license :bananadead:

I got some of those on a group buy like... oh wow. Nine years ago. I bought a Craftsman Riveter to put them on at the same time. Both are still sitting around here in their packaging. And yeah, mine came with only rivets for one end and instructions that said screws for the other but you could use rivets if you wanted. I planned to go the rivet route. If I ever get around to it.
