Yep. I've read of people wondering why their 4wd wasn't working after a clamshell swap. The one that came with the diff is on the workbench, but I'll probably just swap over the one from the truck.

Do you want/have a use for my old front diff too. Don't necessarily want to hang onto a 4.10 spare.

Cool! Yeah I just finished my last run. Pushed it a little faster. 40-45 where I could. My last run was 20 miles 40 mins. I'm still getting grinding sounds on fairly sharp turns. But if I widen the turn it does fine, no noise. I don't think my wife is going to notice the mess. :p

    What haven’t I changed?
So the entire drive shows up as unallocated in disk management? Can you create a new volume?

Post a screenshot if you can.

Mine didn't come with one and I've never gotten around to/bothered installing one. I hear tell it's pretty easy to make your own with some furnace filter fabric and a frame. For $13, I'd probably just be lazy or save the time and use that.

We were going to hike that on our CNM trip a few years ago. Drove back to the trailhead one night after doing other stuff during the day just so we knew where it was and what it took to get back there. Then it rained overnight. Hard. Got about 100 yards up the turnoff from the CNM road, and said nope, ain't happening. That was when I learned what 'grease mud' meant first hand. I can't imagine what the actual 4x4 part back toward the trailhead would have been like.

That could be a naaaaasty one if it's wet! Dry it's easy peasy. nothing technical at all. They are usually really quick to close that road if it's wet at all.
If you get the chance to hike it again, I highly recommend it. It's quite the sight
