Nice, I really want to explore that whole mnt range. My goal was to hike into 3 or 4 different lakes a year. But new addition to the family put that one on hold last year. So hopping to get back to it this summer.

Question... I havent seen them before, but it would be nice to have, or even something that would work. But does anyone make a snatch block for straps instead of just cables?

    DSC02637_zpsbagtu7p9_48b9e1ed22c5461a5d3e3047cf10ea1a5dcb03d8.jpg

This wouldve been much easier with a snatch block and a truck pulling on it! Or I guess one would just need to buy synthetic line and use it instead of the straps.

After thinking about it, a synthetic winch extension rope would work. Anyone know where to get a 50' length with loops on each end for under $100? or are they just that expensive?

Better to ask what I have not done.
http://www.winchline.com/3-8-fireline-extension-with-soft-eye-orange/ Thats the one i ordered. One thing i always try and do when using one on a pully. Use one that is shorter then half your working length in your winch. That way when you pull that amount through and go to reset you have enough winch line to get there with out a short extention. Second make sure you have the extention connected on the same side of the pully as the winch so you dont pull the connecton through the pully and start another mess. Because i have never done that before.:anonymous:

i don't have a winch, just wanted to be able to use a snatch block for pulling in these situations.

Oh now it makes sense. But most straps stretch so your lossing some thing when you use them the winch lines dont do that as much.
