Nothing but 2 track unmarked BLM roads on the flats around there. Baker Pass/Jack Creek, Calamity Pass, and Silver Creek area are pretty cool to explore, but no technical wheeling. I've been meaning to drive to end of Baker Pass road and hike to the top of the pass. Cool way to access the Never Summers.

Pretty awesome view from the top of Montgomery Pass too.

Not many people take the time to explore North Park. There's some other cool area's that I won't be mentioning on the forums. :spy:

@aero3685 what did it take to get a group 31 battery into the stock location? Does it take any modifications or does it fit right in?

    What haven’t I changed?
I only needed longer J-hooks. There is a J-hook welded onto the stock battery tie-down that you can grind off, allowing you to reuse it with the longer J-hooks.

I'm not familiar with one, but it wouldn't surprise me.

I know of one other relatively unknown hot springs in North Park.

Correct that's what i did. The plate on the bottom is plastic so it just bends since the footprint is larger.

In my case, the positive wire coming from the fuse box was about an inch short. I found a battery terminal like this at O'Reilly and used it as a bolt on extension. I wrapped it in electrical tape for now since the stock rubber boot wouldn't cover it.

It's not like anyone from the south travels up here anyway. Maybe one or two but most seem to think it's too far, or maybe it's that the trails are too hard, :notsure:

I haven't been up to that area but natural hot springs would help me make the journey.

What is the revolutions per mile of your 295s? I was thinking you would be closer to a 31/32. The 33 I used in mine with 255s is dead on per the GPS. I have a 33 on order, trying to find a 32 part number. I know I could get a 31 but think that would be too fast still.

1.1% difference in revolution per mile. 33 tooth is close enough for me.

Anyone want a 28 tooth speedo gear? Works perfect for 33s and 4.10s.

@lotsoftoys might, if he has not changed his.

Take lots of care removing and installing the gear. My housing was galled upon removal and I could not get it cleaned up enough to slid in smooth. Moly grease would be best for lubrication when installing. I tried a silicon paste and think it screwed me.
