Probably just 76 to I-70W to evergreen parkway. No matter how you do it the traffic is gonna suck.

Ok yeah I saw two routes there. I didn't know which one was going to be better.

Those were stock Dunflops, and they weren't aired down either, both of which I'm sure contributed. But it wasn't exactly on a hard road either. The other flats I mention were on AT tires, though I don't remember exactly what. I haven't had a flat on my BFGs, and definitely hit some stuff I was concerned about. The main point was just it can happen, isn't all that uncommon, and as BDN pointed out, it pretty much will happen when you don't have your spare.

The Dunlops are great tires, but they are really puncture prone. I had 7 plugs across four tires, one was replaced after 8k miles due to a sidewall puncture too with the stock Dunlops. Loved how they handled on the road though, great gas mileage too. Not my first choice for wheeling but I'm thinking about getting a wheelset with them on there for commuting.

A good place to check would be the surplus store at Broadway and Hampden. I think they have a north location now too.

A lot of people ripped on them and said they were horrible, but I never really had any problems with them. My experience in wet and snow/ice was particularly different than the common stories people tell. There were definitely cases where I noticed a difference between them and the BFGs I got when I'd run the same thing with both. I'd have kept running them as street/commuter tires, but I wanted to dump my 17s and financial circumstances (along with space requirements and the pain of moving/storing a second set) brought be back down to one set of tires. I think I had a total of four patches in them over 30k or so and five or six years. That rock was the only one that was a) a rock and b) on a FR/trail. The others were all screws and such.

@thefatkid You are the man! Fixed the squeal! It was the alternator belt. I tighten it up and the noise went away. Thanks for teaching me how to check them yesterday. Peace!

This has got me thinking. I only get 5.5psi and have always been fine with it. I thought the low psi was due to my elevation. Recently started tuning and seeing other guys like you in Colorado with higher boost. Guess I need to look into my low number further.

Do you know there's a write up on t4r about utilizing that AEM you have there?

He posted in the first gen section and I have kept up in the T4R thread.

I'm guessing you still have the stock pulley. If so you're going to need a 2.1 or 2.2 to get more boost. But that comes with more fuel and something to run it.

Actually I do have the smaller pulley and a URd 7th which is I referred to tuning. I was adding fuel to my map at the time. I think my belt must be slipping. Or I'm thinking my bypass actuator might have come from the factory out of adjustment.
