    Make sure your truck is running when you key up to get the max power/range out of the radio.

    I have an old Icom 208H in my truck. At 50W I could get 40-50 miles in flat terrain.

    I have the Chirp software and program cable for the baofang's if anyone is interested.

    Going back to HAM discussion, with APRS you can send messages (E-mails) just like SPOT, hang up is you don't know if they actually got them but pretty handy for the broken heepers.

    So something has been bugging me this morning. I drive from Westminster to Wheatridge to my Dr.Appt. I get there and a woman the front desk says: Oh by the way the Dr didn't make it in because of the snow. But, they charge you $20 if you are late more than 10mins.
