Hey colorado friends!! I'll be in colorado from the 10th to the 11th. We will be driving in from grand junction and rolling through denver! If anyone wants to work in some time for evening brews

 

when are you gonna be in Denver? the 11th? or both the 10th and 11th?

 

Saw a couple of nice tacos heading down Hwy 24 this morning. I was the one dragging a studio apartment behind mine.

I think walmart will let you stay in their parking lot watch out for the medians Though you might lose a mud flap.

 

Not sure....this weekend where we camped it went like this: rain, hail, rain, snow, sleet, snow, rain, hail, rain...

 

Rampart reservoir. Cold and windy Friday. Rain Friday night. Warm til 10am Saturday then rain, snow, hail. Fishing was great though.

 

I thought it was still closed. Might check it out next weekend if not

 

Reservoir has been open. This was the opening weekend for Meadow Ridge campground.

For those of you with RTT's... I'm looking for a new camp mattress solution for the GF and I and it occurred to me to look into buying a replacement mattress from a RTT and using it in my conventional tent. I've never seen/ felt one of those mattresses- would it work in that application? How small could I roll/ fold it up? Is there some obvious reason that I'm not seeing that this wouldn't work very well?

 

The RTT mattress isn't bad. A couple inches of foam, but you'll still feel the ground underneath you. It doesn't pack down small at all though. When folded it will be the size of a folded RTT. I think you'd be better off with some type of air mattress. Either a packable backpacking style, or regular coleman style.

 

Ok thanks, I was wondering if the foam would be too soft on the ground. I have an air mattress currently, but I've already popped one and it's not super convenient or comfortable so I've been looking for some sort of foam pad solution. Thanks for the info tho, good to know this might not be my best option.

How is the weather looking? I will be hitting up Rampart Range, Goose Creek, and Tincup Pass the second week of June. Seems to be a later winter this year.

 

I would bet on an August opening date for Tin Cup.
