Can anyone advise what the snow is like in SW CO right now? I've got the Fun Treks book and would like to explore a bunch of the trails but have no idea when I can start heading up there for weekend camping trips, etc.

8600' near Denver had barely any snow, a few small and rapidly melting slabs in shaded areas but I think even those will be gone by today or tomorrow. No idea about higher up though.

Here is a post from Colorado Stay the Trail's FB page a while back, best way to know is call the forest service office or BLM office to see whats open, cheers, enjoy our state!!

    "Know Before You Go"

At this time of year in Colorado there are still several trails that are closed or impassable due to snow or mud. At Stay The Trail we strongly recommend that that if you are planning a trip in Colorado with your OHV that you should "Know Before You Go" and contact the local Forest Service or BLM Office to make sure the trail is open

Here is a link to a page on the Stay The Trail website that has the contact info for every Colorado Forest Service Office.

Looking for a camping spot between Denver and Telluride

Girlfriend and I are making the drive to Telluride Bluegrass Festival a 2-day trip this year. Anybody know of an awesome camp spot between here and there? Preferably within about 3 hours of Telluride. Even better if there's a lake to fish.

All fueled up, hopefully that'll be enough!

Expedition NW Colorado begins in T-Minus 17 hours.

you could camp down around marble and see crystal mill and then either camp on the marble side of scholfield pass or on the crested butte side of scholfield, if your up for wheeling on that adventure

Its plugged into a 12V outlet thats always hot which is now located below the 120V outlet. I would like to find a better connector since that one is a little loose, but not in a rush.

Yeah, 400w anytime is great, that outlet was tapped off it when I was in there. If I didnt have the water tank setup, I would've put the 12v plug in the back of the console.... along with the outlet.

If you didnt want to cut into the console you could always just run the wires under the seat and leave a 12v plug loose that you can pull out when needed.

I was planning on the back of the console, but under the seat may not be a bad idea.

And you could also do the same thing and run it into the center console and leave a two foot cord with the 12v plug on the end for the same deal and not worry about it under the seat.

This is Brownie. Sold to a local here named Pete. He isn't on TW. I finally got to meet him at the RSG open house a couple of weekends ago. Nice guy.
