Heat shield is on there securely. It seems to only make noise when the exhaust is hot, if that helps.

I had a similar experience with a non-toyota cat. When the steel heats up, it expands just enough to allow a broken off piece of the ceramic matrix inside the cat to rattle around. When it cools off, the piece is wedged back in place & the rattling stops. Maddening. :annoyed:

On another note I just found this on Craig's List. Being a month old ad who knows if it's still available or not, but I thought I should put it up here.

Can somebody recommend a good two burner camp stove that they've had personal experience with. My little single burner backpacking one is not cutting it anymore. Also is there a way to run an electric one? Or would that pull way too much power for the 120v in the bed?

    Coleman stoves can't be beat.
No way an inverter can power an electric stove.

Too poor to list anything interesting.
I've had this stove for years and have had no complaints when cooking for just 2 people.

I've even started to use it for tailgating since it doesn't take up much room. The downside is you'll need a table. But, I always have a table out for prep room when I'm cooking anyway.

I'm thinking that's exactly what the noise is. And yes, the rattling is annoying as hell. It sounds like my truck is going to fall apart over every tiny imperfection in the road... and there are plenty around here.

Those 2nd cats are not to expensive. I got mine from 4wheel parts. Went with a MF. You don't have to go OEM. Would be easier to get new bolts and nuts and just cut the old ones of. Saves you the head ache. They come with new gaskets.

Nice! My office is only a couple miles from their Westminster location. Might try and swing by there on the way home. Thanks Ray!

At least the colors kind of mesh. I wouldn't do that to my truck but to each's own.

I do want to add some darker metallic copper accents/designs to my truck after it's paid off.
