    There are other ways to get hung up on rocks and then tossed off the trail by them. Trust me I know. :D

    BTW I have a winch coming my way for Christmas. Just need to get some syn line and a rolling fairlead that supports syn line.

    Cool. That is the antenna I have as well. Maybe we should have a tuning session as I have never tuned mine. Might be good for it.

    The problem isn't that an AL fairlead would fit, it will, But the hole is recessed back with some plate edge sticking out about 3 inches on both sides. On angle pulls I would end up rubbing the syn line along the plate fraying it and eventually busting the line. I found a site that has the plastic rollers Bob had mentioned once just got to find the site again now that I am actually getting the winch.
