Better to ask what I have not done.
Correct. No one is milling out anyone else's lower though as that is illegal. But we can share jigs and provide help.

Trying to score a date with a chick in Louisville. Wondering if the added mileage on the truck will be worth it.
There's another in Lafayette that has expressed interest in lunch. Wondering if I can date both on the same trip.

1st year I did not hear the elk bugle. It was fairly warm up there. Some hunters did all right but nothing like previous years.
Yes, I'm happy with what I got. Hoping to pick it up next week. :hungry:

Haha! Sounds like me doing the online thing before I met my wife. It's all about efficiency(time and fuel) and statistical probability(of scoring) :D

That makes it all worth while doesn't it? I'm waiting to get this beast back from the processor as well!

I just got lucky in an area with more elk than anywhere I've ever been. If you ever have the opportunity, Southern New Mexico is an incredible trip as a hunter.

I didn't even know there was an Archery thread :anonymous:

I saw one yearling elk when I went up scouting in early September on the flat tops. I'm first rifle so we'll see what it looks like; but I get to go up 2 days and 3 nights early so hopefully I can find some before the season opens so I know generally where they're going; and I only have the weekend to fill my tag since school happens on Monday.

Should be good! With the rut coming on as late as it is you should have a lot of action up that way. Good luck!

Thanks! It's my first time and I think my friends know what they're doing but we'll see. We found a sweet camp area about 7500' that is just up from a valley and has several creek/drainages with south facing slopes within a mile of the camp area, halfway decent 4x4 access and even a hiking trail. I figure hike up slope to hunt so I get to haul the animal down hill back to camp, but that's if I get lucky.

Oh does anyone have a chest freezer in the Springs or Pueblo area? I'm not going to buy a medium-sized chest freezer unless I fill the tag and might need a place to store the meat for 4-5 days while the freezer is delivered.
