Just got off the phone with toyota, they want $108 for brake pads

Not sure I got them from auto anything

She said they have 2 different sets of pads. $108 each

 

Ha! I would try another dealer.

 

Got an ejecto seat button on the flight controls??

 

I used Akebono pads.

Highly recommend. Easily found too.

 

Why is synthetic winch line like 60% more than steel?? Is it really worth the weight savings?

I'm mostly wondering because I'll most likely do a very minimalistic tube bumper, so lessening the weight doesn't really seem worth the extra cash.

 

Besides weight safety is a big benefit

 

safety and weight, and you should be able to sell your steel line. i sold mine for like $40 bucks or more a long time ago off CL

 

Pull a roll of steel off a drum when it's freezing ass cold.
Then pull a roll of rope in the same conditions.

 

I used wire rope for a few years, on a budget and all. By the time I switched to the synthetic, the wire had frayed and had bits of single braid just waiting to slip right through the palm of my hand, wrist, webbing in my fingers, etc... Heavy leather gloves were a must.

Several years later, I'm still using the same synthetic line and most of the time with bare hands.

 

The was one of the main things I was concerned about, but when you're talking $400 different is it worth it? Especially if you might have to use 1-2 times a year. It's seems a majority of the time someone with a strap is more convenient.

 

$400? are you looking for one that is using gold thread?

 

What winch combo are you looking at?

 

That's what I'm saying. Although, gold thread would be expo as fuck...
