    @Reh5108 et al

    You said you were out snowmobiling, what's a good suggestion for a balaclava? Particular materials/styles?

    I've got some full face thin ones, that seem thin and not wind proof, a neoprene lower one that feels nice but quickly gets humid.

    I just ordered this one it hasn't arrived yet, and hoping it works.

    Sometimes i roll around like this... Looking to keep my face warm.

    They are waiting on the snow to pick up so they can toss it out and you find it in spring or whenever snow melts up there. :stirthepot:

    That's OnTrac. USPS just won't deliver it and will make me go get it. Which would be fine if it didn't take them three days to unload it from that truck and put it inside the post office that it parks at every night. :)

    I might go camp out there. :p

    Maybe @iRideMTB will want to install them with me if they arrive. :p

    At least it's not just me with issues.. my cousin just sent me this as i was typing. download_20161202_112128.jpg

    My only advice.... GROW A BEARD! Lol

    It hasn't been cold enough for me to use one yet. I never found one that I really liked last year either. Just walked in to a shop bought one a dealt with it. Anything that covers your skin helps with the wind burn but I think they all hold condensation. In my experience fleece seems to retain heat fairly well even when wet.

    I have a Carhartt one that I use for work. Fared the windchill in NoDak without a problem... doesn't get cold enough down on the Front Range to really test it out.

    The link I provided is for a Flame Resistant one, but you get the gist.

    That graph is a bad statistical comparison; a more applicable comparison would be costs between the USA and Europe.

    That being said while the care you get in the USA is better, it's not 3 times better for 3 time the cost. On the other hand a lot of other third world countries don't have as reliable or stringent licensing agencies for dentists, and medical professions. You might get someone good but you might get someone who leaves you with a limp the rest of your life and that is possible in the USA but generally the level of education and professionalism required to get licensed is so high a mistake rarely happens when you look at the total number of procedures done vs how many get botched.

    So like anything it depends; it could go well but could go badly. What our health and functioning is worth is something we all have to answer for ourselves. Also for most catastrophic health plans in the USA it's about 10-13k max out of pocket which is about the same or less then you'd pay by flying to a third world country getting a hotel for a few days or weeks for a spouse if the recovery takes weeks, getting the procedure done (which isn't covered by insurance), and flying home. Cheaper to just have the basic insurance in the USA which also gets you a higher chance of a positive outcome with minimized chances of long-term loss of functioning.
