Hey Guys! I finally caught up with this BS thread.

Yes I bought another truck and am in process of dismantling and swapping parts.

I have a problem, I own 3 old man tan trucks!

The Donor is in damn good shape for the parts I need.

A picture for all the Duratrac haters... Still kicking ass 20k in. Made it up this road, fresh tracks for at least half of it. By Jones pass, drifts up to a foot deep, some tight and steep switchbacks for being covered in snow.

There was a white 1st gen with an arb bumper that couldn't make it up the first part, i stopped at a level area a bit further up hoping they would follow but no luck.

Finally got my new tires on. I hope we get some decent snow this week so I can test them out a bit.

No above treeline stuff, plenty of trees to catch you if you slide too close to the edge.

Are you allowed to drive up Jones Pass? It was not gated, i know snowmobiles can use it, but no signs that you couldn't drive up it... Other than pissing off other users.

I'm jelly, I really wanted to tackle a project like that. Though, I think I'm better off with the 4door Tundra. More power for hauling the camp trailer and room for the kids. It sucks not having a built truck though.

There's usually a winter gate near Henderson Mine. So. I dunno. If it wasn't closed then I'm not sure what's the story. Definitely don't drive up Butler Gulch (the left trail just up from the trailhead) even if the gate is open, that is off limits to vehicles and would probably really tick off some people.

Yeah, I don't think it's technically closed unless the gate is closed.

Whether or not you decide to be courteous kind of depends on who's up there. As a backcountry skier I kind of feel the snowmobiles aren't any better than snow busting in a truck in this case.
