It's pretty. And expensive. Especially expensive if you have property with trees since a large majority went through a bad forest fire recently. I'd love to live out there.

 

I had no clue about this area until just now. The photos/fire make the area look post-apocalyptic.

 

Pweeus owners wouldn't understand

 

Yeah it was really bad, and just a year after the Waldo Canyon fire that took out a huge part of the Springs. We have a few friends that live out there. We helped evacuate them. Luckily it barely missed both of their homes. They dumped the fire retardant all over one of their houses.

We lost the home I was in up in FoCo during the High Park Fire, then the Springs caught on fire at about the same time that was happening which was threatening both my moms home and my dads home. Then next year the Black Forest fire...I was tired of fires at that point lol

 

Edit: It's pretty unique to see the homes that were sprayed with retardant. They're pretty obvious and they still have green vegetation throughout - even more of a contributor to the post-apocalyptic look. Very eerie.

Completely understandable! Sorry to hear about about your loss. My roommates and I lost our house to a fire when I was 18. Quite a turning point losing everything when you don't have much to begin with at that age.

 

It's one of those things where you're like "It'll never happen to me" things. Looking back I could have grabbed more stuff out of the house, but we at least got the important things. I was with my boyfriend at the time and he was freaking out because his 80 Yota was in the garage and in pieces. He pretty much just wipped it back together enough so we could limp it down the road to safety.

We were surprised too that the wood sawhorses holding up the Yota bed didn't burn. And ironically our pile of sticks we were cleaning didn't burn. That's the corner of the house on the bottom.

 

Shorts and jorts... Two very different things

 

Soooo whay you are saying is you wear the 2" above your knee shorts? I bet they have a nice breeze for your nether regions though.

 

I prefer kilts for the breeze...

 

They're jean shorts who cares how long they are..as long as youre comfortable ..Unleas you're going for the cholo look
