I got one of these for Dutch oven cooking. Should get around any fire bans as it only requires a dozen charcoal bricks instead of a campfire

Also the three piece campmaid is $69 on Amazon right now. That is tempting after watching the video on the website.

From what the Canyon Lakes district has explained, any fire used for cooking or heating needs to be able to be turned off.
So Charcoal is no good, no wood fires, no self contained chimney starters or cookers.
Propane and butane, and the various forms of Coleman white gas/unleaded, are fine.
So the link you posted, should be fine.

As with anything that produces heat, just because it's self contained, doesn't mean it's totally safe. Always clear a nice big spot of dirt or rock for those kind of things to sit on so they don't ignite the ground under or around them.

I watched a guy use a small propane grill once that had broken legs. He set on top of a plastic toolbox, in the bed of his truck. It didn't work out too well and he ended up with a pretty exciting bed fire.

You guys with the 2nd gens might want to consider this...

Cool, probably gonna get one of those camp chef fire rings this year. Can't stand camping without a fire!
