Picked up some new Falken Wildpeaks today. If you're in the Springs I highly recommend working with Galen from the Discount Tire on Woodmen. He price matched the DC EBay price and special ordered these for me.

Some manufacturers bed racks say it fits 2005-2017 tacomas. Other have 2nd and 3rd gens specific bed rack. I know the 3rd gen bed is just a tad wider, so how can they say some fit 2005-2017.

Ummmmm....I Googled the 2012 and 2017 toyota tacoma product information PDF's and the bed dementions as far as I can tell is gen 2 is 18 inches tall inside the bed and the gen 3 is a little over an inch taller....shouldn't matter if it is on the bed rails

Yup. Saw a few guys say that and a bunch of others say they had good luck with them. Half the price of Duratracs or KO2s, though, so we'll see.

Either way, I'm sure Discount Tire will take care of me.

But that's still almost an inch. How can they say the same product fits both?

A small handful of select mods.
The aftermarket world deals in full inches. As long as they are close, it fits. :D

In all seriousness when you go into the item I bet they make you select your model truck.

Step one: some adjustment may need to be made for thinner older beds. Use supplied tool to make any needed adjustments.

Every site seems to be different and I can't find anything official from Toyota. Some are saying they're the same width. Others stating is 0.2 in - 1 in wider.

Also when I searched widths from 2nd gen guys I'm getting different measurements. Maybe they don't know how to measure. Maybe cause the bed spread.
