Been a loooong time since I've been to the site. Came looking for the Rock Therapy thread for dates. Don't see one. What's up? And details if there was drama.

Out of your comfort zone? Because of venue or age difference? :D Seriously though, one of those galleries, I think it's on the same block as Rocket Fizz or whatever, like half the art in there is train themed. I didn't realize First Friday had started up again or I might have gone. Then again I was working til 7 and just wanted to veg when I decided to stop for the night.

Venue. The artists definitely have a political statement to make this year. I had a hard time keeping comments to myself. However, the rest of it was actually pretty good.
The one by Rocket Fizz had a hot garage mechanic babe theme going, motorcycle and vintage hot rods. I kind of liked that one.

Ah. Somehow not surprising but still disappointing. In years past it didn't seem like politics really got into the art all that much. This past election though... It's like with Colbert. I like him, he's funny, and the presidency is certainly topical, but he hosts the Late Show now. Diversify a little man, does 95% of your material have to be about the president? I'll have to make sure to go to the gallery walk next month and see what's up this year.

I can't remember the names of the galleries, but that sounds like it might have been the same one. And I know from time to time they shuffle things around, so themes at one point might change. I just remember this one as being a lot of cowboy/western stuff toward the front, and a fair bit of train stuff toward the back, especially in the little 'back room'. I sort of remember the garage/machine thing too, but not as big of an area. Of course it's been since at some point last summer since I went, so...
