    Last I checked you can import then only legally drive on the streets for a year. Once that's up it's show car or track car only cuz you can't register it

    Not at all like that. 25 year exempt rules allow for legal importing and tittle issuance. Still the easiest way is to get one from Canada and walk it across the border. Shipping yards require a customs agent/middle man dude, they are generally less than a thousand dollars to "pay for his services".

    Insurance is a little tricky as they fall under a "stated value" grey area because of parts not in the USA.

    I was looking at importing a TD 60 series so I looked into it. I was turned off because of parts. Toyota USA will not order parts unless they came on a USA specific vehicle. All my parts would have to be ordered through Canada, from Japan.

    It was a cute little mini camper thing that looked pretty lightweight. It got stuck in traffic by the time i realized what it was or I would've taken a pic.
