Just returned from the eye doc.
Macular degeneration has gone from bad to worse. I have an extreme advanced case. Most are in their 60's when it gets this bad.
My prescription from 7 months ago is already no good, the vision has dramatically worsened. I also have cataracts. And these nifty little specs called "floaters".
    this fucking sucks.

I've known about it for a few years now, so it wasn't too much of a surprise.
I have been noticing an issue with my left eye for a couple weeks now, it's super blurry, so went in to see what was up. That's how I found out I need new lenses already. That prompted a dilation and pics of the inside of my eyeball, and viola, shitty news.

I am not sure you can pin the plate breaking on the spring. The only way the spring could get involved is if it compressed to the point of coil bind. I cycled my 14" 700lb coils from Eibach and no issues. We also did the measurement of the space in between the coils and the overall travel. No binding.

For plate to break like that it almost sounds like the shock bottomed out on up travel. Where the stock bump stops still in place or did you have aftermarket stops like Wheeler's bump stops on the front?? Did you ever "air it out" a bit too much? I know you were drunk college student at one point in time.... :drunk:

Also were these resi versions or NON resi? I believe Non resi have less travel. @TMFF could confirm that better though.

@Star-Lord look what I just noticed has been parked down the street from me in the direction I never exit the neighborhood. It's been sitting there for at least 5 years, but I never cared to look at what it was until today. I'm sure you'd know more about it than I do.

I'd have to see the front to tell you the year, but typical looking Scout with the optional factory deluxe rear bumper and rust around the fender.

Resi/Non resi are the same travel AFAIK. Only so much travel using stock components, CV's and OTR bind past what ET setups provide.
