Yes, you could possibly go down to a .75". Sometimes a 285 on stock wheels will clear at ride height but not full droop.

Yep, what @TMFF said. You should be good to go. Do you still have the OEM pinion depth shims for a baseline? If not I'll try and find some to help you out.

I think I saw your truck pass me in Estes park, I was in the sequoia.

Sorry it didn't work out for you. Drove from grand lake to Estes with a little traffic. Ate lunch in Estes and then hiked emerald lake with no problems at all. Got there at the perfect time. Also had a elk 2 feet away from the vehicle. Great day for me and the family!

    Crazy close!!

I think I am just whining and being bitter. I am still so used to being able to go anywhere in areas like this (Montana) with out the traffic and all the headache and rules. I should have known the issue with pets on trails, but I didn't even know we were going to the park admittedly lol just knew a lake and a trail was the plan. I think if I planned it again I could have a good trip even bringing the pup along and just hanging at some of the larger hang out areas.

Yeah, rmnp is a CRAZY place in the summer especially on the weekends. I didn't get to bear lake parking until 5pm and that was when everybody was leaving. I can see how that area of the park would be a zoo earlier in the day. I can say that emerald lake is worth it. By far my favorite hike so far in the park. Absolutely gorgeous back in there.

I'll have to take a full day getting there early and add that to the list to explore. We were flying by the seat of our pants and ill prepared.

I guess I just feel bad not bringing the dog hiking anywhere I go. He enjoys it more than me lol

Yeah, that is the only downside. The dog I used to have absolutely loved hiking. Which I am fortunate to live in the place I do because there are great trails in grand county to take dogs on.

Winter park, that was somewhere a friend had said to go explore.

Yeah rmnp blows with all the people and that was years ago. I wouldn't even think about going there with all the californians and texans that have moved here now. There's some cool stuff there, but honestly nothing you can't find elsewhere that will be more secluded.

Kinda what I gathered. Like I said, super pretty area and lots to see, but for the most part I think I will be venturing into more public lands and exploring.

    RMNP is spectacular.

Just don't ever go on a weekend in the summer.

I believe it's in the top 5 most visited parks.

Come back in late summer/early fall, during the week and check out the elk bugling. That'll change your mind about the park.

Gonna have to disagree with you on this one. It's a national park. People from all over the country visit it and that's the reason it's so packed. Just gotta go at the right time. Saturday's and Sunday's are the worst time to go but you can make it work if you go later in the day or super early in the morning. Californians and Texans are what make the rest of Colorado sucky mcsucksvill, but it's not just limited to them. It's the self intitled America we live in now. Moab isn't the same as it used to be either. And speaking of Moab don't ever go there on spring break! My gosh never thought it was a popular place for spring breakers until I went in March this year.
