Wound it be "impersonating"? After all there red and blue and everyone's tail lights are red. So wound it be wrong to have blue? I'm understanding was as long as it's not flashing.

    I will

Go ask a cop first. :p
I've got orange covers and want to order blue.

But what's the difference in running orange covers when that's what construction and emergency vehicles use

Trooper explains illegal light colors in interview.

    http://www.fortmorgantimes.com/fort...9618032/tips-from-trooper-vehicle-lights-laws

Most of the popular colors I have seen are green, red and blue. All three of these colors are illegal to display on a civilian motor vehicle and will result in a summons into court or a citation with a fine, depending on the color.

If we form a TacomaWorld Volunteer FireFighter org we can be legal in some areas :D

Correct, it's not impersonating it's just the fact that the lights are reserved for certain vehicles. If everyone ran around running those color lights, then people would ignore them a little more when they were being lawfully used to tell you to get the hell out of the way.

When i came out to CO it was quite an adjustment seeing snow plows and road crews using blue since they were only allowed to use amber or green in Florida.

I'm going off info I had years ago when looking in to under lighting for a car, red and blue could get you in trouble back then. Don't know about now though

Also, has to do with placement. For instance, Red is legal so long as it's the rear part of the vehicle. Most states stipulate how far forward the red can be.

That might be better left to the pros... It'd take a lot of hours of acupuncture to de-stress from cutting off a finger.
