    So who here skateboards?

My daughter is really interested. And seemingly a natural at it. I want to buy her one but I have no idea what quality trucks, wheels, bearings, decks, etc are.

Nor do I know what size to get. She's 10.

Oh and I don't want to pay much for her first board.

    Any recommendations?

    Here's one on craigslist:

Go to Meta Skateshop and support local (if you're looking for new). That's a great Craigslist deal, especially to test out her interest. An average set up will run you around $150-$170 new.

I own a shop in Texas and would be happy to answer questions! Just PM me

That's how it lights up :notsure:

Mine burnt out but in such a way that it worked intermittently. Wasted a bunch of time trying to figure out where the loose connection was when it was the fillament.

Anyway, they come in a pack of two and I'll lose the other one before I need it again so I thought I'd see if anyone needed it.

When I bought the truck mine was never lit, simple replacement though. All you have to do is squeeze and lift the console up to um snap it and the bulb will be accessible, don't need to take off the shifter either. It isn't a led either so if you want to change it's color you gotta get a colored "condom" for it

For a starter board that will be fine, many skate shops will have good starter kits if you want but they can be double that cost . The only real size difference is the width but as far as a deck, girl is a good one and I had a couple of them back in the day. Bearings so she isn't hauling ass stick with ABEC 3, I was always partial to spitfire wheels and bearings cuz they lasted for me.

@303tacoma you had some drive line vibe issues correct? When going over 50mph? The solution was toytec 3* axle shims?

Well since I hardly got over 10K miles out of the ebc yellow stuff pads so I wasn't doing that again. I was in a pinch so I ended up getting O'reillys "towing" pads. We'll see how they do. I did like the performance of the ebc pads but not at the expense of changing them every 3 months.

These aren't towing pads. These are Wagner OEX pads made by federal mogul. Not an O'Reilly's brand by any means. These are top of the line pads. Google them. If you did want towing pads I'd have went with the Wagner Severe Duty.
