Totally worth it.

 

I had LCA skids, then took them off and sold them to some other TW member.


They're great at gathering mud.

I won a set from a good vendor here (possibly their 1st Rock Therapy). Do I think they add protection, yes, does the part they are protecting need it, not really. Do I feel the need to take them off, no.

 

That's my story exactly.
I do have some scrapes and dents on my lcas that I earned prior to the skids fwiw.

 

Gotcha, just was wondering. I know the fj's have rear lower shock mounts that can use protection (at least I've seen one lower mount sheered off or broken) so wasn't sure if there was something protected that i didn't know of.

 

In other news, I'm regretting not stopping to check out the two bull moose that were having a standoff earlier tonight. Didn't see them until I was pretty much past. I've seen a ton of them but I've never seen that before.

You don’t have cam bolts....

 

Not if you are running Pelfrybilt skids. They are wide enough to cover the CAM bolts. All LCA skids would need to be trimmed to work with a Pelfrybilt front skid.

Like Eric @teamhypoxia I have some scrapes on mine. But I have sold mine since I will be moving to TC or Dirt King lowers over the winter.

LCA skids are critical in the modern urban crime environment.

 

The LCA skids I bought from @Wishbone Runner are still sitting in my trailer unused

LOL, that was at least 2 years ago. IMO they are worthwhile if you plan to beat on them hard in the rocks, I think you could dent and possibly damage the stock arms, but it would take a well placed rock. as a plus, you get the aftermarket arm look without the aftermarket arm price.

 

So do they all yell "Norm" when you walk in?
