I've heard that most officers of the law don't enforce. In fact, I actually got in trouble a few months ago I was out shooting with some friends 'in the middle of nowhere', turns we picked a spot where we weren't allowed to shoot. The cops showed up, we apologized, they ran our guns' serial numbers, gave us a warning and sent us on our way. Never even mentioned the 30 round magazines we all had.

But I do know some ranges can be super picky about what calibers you use, how fast you shoot, etc, etc. I can totally see a range banning 30 round magazines.

I think right after the law was passed/ announced, just about every CO Police force head said it was unenforceable and they wouldn't try to enforce it.

Really it comes down to the range. It's best to visit their website or call them to see if they have any restrictions on magazine size, caliber, or type of gun that can be shot at their range.

You made me second guess myself, so I went and re-looked up the actual law. It is in fact illegal to own/possess high capacity magazines in Colorado unless you have owned them since before July, 1 2013 AND have maintained continuous possession of them since then. As I also mentioned the burden of proof is on the prosecution.

    Source: http://www.lexisnexis.com/hottopics...fo=off&searchtype=get&search=C.R.S.+18-12-302

As others here have mentioned, almost all law enforcement in CO has said they do not plan to enforce this law for many different reasons, chief among them the fact that the burden of proof is on them and is very hard to prove. Again, I am not a lawyer and this is not legal advice.

That's why I just got to my buddies house to shoot, the only person who gets upset is his wife when we shoot the Browning .50 in the basement without warning her, apparently it makes the dishes dance on the counter in the kitchen.

And again, that's why I have this hand written proof of purchase written on a bar napkin in crayon dated June 30th 2013 by Billy Bob from Billy Bob's Emporium of Guns and Hot Sauces.

So I made it home around 4pm just barely hit traffic. I made pretty good time. Shitty part was Casper to Cheyenne with the wind.

I saw a white access cab near Fort Collins, bumpers, snorkel, de-badged. I know back in WA that'd usually be someone on the forum then I remembered how many more modded tacos are here

Anyway when I walk in the door my brother was working on his remodel, stopped what he was doing and busted out celebritory shots of whiskey and some beers. More shots, more beer, dinner around I don't even know what time I lost track instantly.. More shots beer shots beer hot tub beer shots bed.. Now here I am feeling like a bag of smashed assholes and still have the trailer to unload...

    But hey bitches I'm back!

For some reason this made me laugh

A man in Canada and local police had a good laugh after the Montreal resident fooled officers with a full-size car made entirely of snow. According to CBS affiliate WGCL-TV, Simon Laprise sculpted a life-size model of a DeLorean DMC-12 in the middle of a local snow removal zone.

The "car," made famous by the "Back to the Future" movie franchise, drew the attention of one police officer who was so fooled by Laprise's snow work he called for a second patrol car to check out the DeLorean.

CBS Los Angeles writes that after the officers realized there was no car under the snow pile, Laprise was given a fake parking ticket that read, "You made our night hahahahaha :)"

The 33-year-old machinist's prank was reportedly plowed clean by Montreal sanitation workers the next day but not before it gave police a funny story to tell this winter.

Some ranges inspect your weapon to make sure they are within regulations and maintained properly before you can shoot in their lanes ..wasn't sure if the Colorado magazine law applied

Thanks everyone @TMFF, @Gramps for the help. My buddy was trying to be a cheap ass and not spend the money to lift it correctly. But I got him talked into the Toytec Boss kit.

FWIW PMAGS, Hexmags, and most new USGI mags are date stamped so they won't have too much of a hard time figuring out if you bought those post ban.

That said I don't think anyone has been prosecuted except as an additional charge on a crime they committed using said magazine.

Do you know what the policy is with shipping them? I have some leftover at my dads house in a different state. Is that against the law?
