Though it was under 60 according to the manual. But even that is hard on the synchro’s in the tcase.

I heard under 45mph. Don't know where I heard it and don't know if it's true. Where are you going 70mph that you need to switch!?

:rofl:We're all over the board on this one...

I'd be willing to bet that when the drivetrain is under a load it's probably harder on things than when it's not.
ie: Going up a steep hill and accelerating at say 20mph is probably harder on it than coasting with your foot off the gas at 50mph.

Sometimes out of nowhere black ice pops up so I switch cause I get a tad bit more traction and can get out of situations better. Majority of the time I change it around 55 mph but a handful of times I did it at 70

As long as your going straight why not just leave it in 4wd? Especially when black ice is around

Cause I get 12mpg with my 34s and I like to think that staying in 2wd will give me an extra mpg ahaha even tho I know it's not true

I don't have a lead foot. I believe it's really the heavy winds in North Dakota. Hopefully it jumps to 15mpg next week when I move to CO

So instead of slowing down you just flip it into 4wd and carry on in invincibility mode?
