saw a post in the 3rd gen section where they attached the hoses to new cooler, filled the cooler until the fluid came out the flow side hose, then capped both hoses and proceeded with install. ?? I'd think the cooler should list the capacity - but that would makes things too easy. No help from me I guess. Carry on.

I think I will double check my u-bolts tonight just to make sure.

So the follow up to 2)... hi-lift jack and replace u-bolts on the spot?

I don't know if I would expect that work, I guess it depends on what your straps are rated to. But I do remember reading a post somewhere with pictures about someone breaking a lower ball joint on the trail and using a ratchet strap to hold it together while he limped home.

Well i'll loose some on the ground (job security), and then the cooler is larger and i can't fill it all due it being a low pressure bypass cooler (doesn't flow through the whole cooler unless warm).

I would flush it while you're at it, but either way, here's a thread about flushing that should also explain how to check the level.

    Wait? What do you drive?

I’d probably buy 3qts. You’re only gonna lose what’s in the old cooler. 2 qts would probably do but I’d get and extra just in case. Fluid is not gonna come gushing out of the lines from the trans unless the engine is running. I did my own flush this winter and only lost a few drops when disconnecting the return line.

Founded is what he meant, it was all auto-correct's fault.

There is not enough in that reply to explain the stupid in the video. It may explain how things started, and that's fine. But there are at least three people who majorly fucked up based on what I see in that video, never mind the stuff I can't see.

can you use low pressure (compressor say 10-15 psi) to nudge it along until the outflow begins to flow? Job security is a bonus - add cold beer and it becomes tax free!
