I will say its worth it to buy the pass to fish inside yellowstone for a few days. CPW has talked about raising the fee here too. outside the park non resident fees are high though

You can buy out of state fishing licenses for CO, NM & UT combined for less than the WY out of state alone.

The fishing can be really good but we had a hard time. Whitefish all over the place along upper river portions and he water was still high. You have to get down below them where the picky trout (huge) are hanging out on the bottom. The gravel road leading to the lakes (start of the green river) is a long long road. Maybe 20 miles. Many guys are set up camping along the river, putting boats into the river and fishing up and down. It’s a serious river and the water and flow were still really high in the upper portions of the river. Trout are big and elusive. You can troll for them in the lake. If I go back I will stop in at Pinedale and find out more about trolling setups to get the lake trout, they are down in there. Wyoming state record trout came out of there. And yeah he dang license was expensive. We got one for a few specific days instead of going all in. The whole area is pretty epic. Would like to go back. The mosquitoes are the worst part. Other than that it’s better than RMNP and 1/1000th of the people.

Thanks for that info. Lake Trout are hard to get, early Spring is about the only time they are within reach of most fishing techniques before they go deep with warm weather.

Basically what I’m saying is, I didn’t know what the F I was doing as far as fishing but it was still fun.

That's why i called before i placed the order.. to see what shipment method would guarantee they didn't touch it. I'll happily pay extra to keep things away from them and shop with a company who doesn't use them.

Two out of three packages arrived and we rolled up early so I'm going to grab my gear and hoping the third package arrives before we leave again.

4209439D-75F2-4CB5-860C-9F2F7DD59D42.jpg Oh yeah. That is my dad’s old Mark IV Fiberglass whitewater kayak. I grew up in Oak Ridge TN and the whitewater club had molds and we used to make them in our carport. I was the only one small enough to get in and plug the ends. This was early 80’s before the days of plastic, plastic... and more plastic.
