Okay, all over 1000 miles away. Haven't searched that far yet for a dodge. Diesels still scare the crap out of me with all of there expensive repairs

If the truck I want is rare but out of state, I'd figure a way to get it. There's one on there that's less than 500 miles away.

Colorado can be pretty bad for some types/models of vehicle.

I here ya. I have been looking all over the country for a 2007 Chevy duramax. Don't know if I am willing to travel for a dodge though. GM runs in my blood. Grandpa worked on the assembly line for 30 years, uncles all worked for GM as well.

Why did I even buy a travel trailer if I could have just bought this thing...

Super accessible with the metal railing in the way. What’s planned for that space?

His 4 door is only getting 16 on the best days. The Tundra I was driving for the last 2 weeks but decided I shouldn't spend the money on right now was doing 15 with 35s (corrected). So both running unloaded with a topper ended up about the same. Colorado has issues with air volume in the cylinders decreasing the power enough that his Chevy doesn't want to cut fuel to gain mileage. Kinda the same issue that the 3rd gen Tacoma falls into with stated mileage at this altitude. There is no magic solution to physics.

If you want to talk hyper miles I've done 22mpg in a Tundra going to Moab loaded. I was running with 2 1st gen Taco's that didn't want to do more than 65mph, slower over the passed. No one really like to hyper mile though because it is lame going 10-15 below the speed limit on the highway. Just think if the national speed limit was still slow.

Well it's against code for a door or room to be there... So it doesn't exist until CO is done. And not sure if they want us to build a handrail that can be hinged or not. I think it's mostly for the grandkids, like the other hidden spots.

Anyone know of a place to buy toe plates other than the internet? Wouldn't mind picking some up while I'm in Denver today.

On the contrary you are pushing through less air. I started getting slightly better mpgs when I first moved to the mountains from sea level. Lots of factors to consider though but I attributed it mostly to the fact that the air was thinner.

I was contemplating earlier this week buying a school bus and cutting the back half for a deck to haul the Taco and finishing the inside of the bus. Can buy a diesel bus for 6k.

Not only was it a date, it was a FIRST DATE! I told her I was coming down to Toytec's CAD & we could go out when I got back, thinking she wouldn't be interested. She said she really wanted to come to see all the money pits that were deeper than mine. She drives a Rav4 but wishes it was a dual cab Taco. She was totally enamored with that black Japanese right hand drive diesel expedition vehicle by the north garage door & the roof top tents just inside. Maybe I'll never hear the phase, "All you care about is that G-d damned truck" from her. Here's to hoping.
