I’ve been thinking about that. At this point I’m not too worried about crazy off-road stuff.
The occasional pass over the continental divide or such, sure. But nothing like Baja or similar in the foreseeable future. The wife would be much too worried about the precious cargo - our kids, not me

Anyone in here know the laws about conceiled weapons in Colorado? I know this is random but I’m driving to Denver from Phoenix tomorrow and I’m trying to figure out if it’s legal for me to keep my handgun in my truck. I keep searching and finding contradicting info. Thanks in advance. Also I do have a CCW if that makes it any different

I am not a lawyer, nor am I a gun owner and there are many here more knowledgeable than me. They can/should/will correct or add as necessary, BUT:
    https://www.colorado.gov/pacific/csp/colorado-gun-laws
I believe at the state level vehicle is considered the same as your dwelling, thus even without a CCW you can keep your gun with you in the vehicle. HOWEVER, you cannot have a round chambered unless it is a pistol or revolver. I wasn't sure if you could even have it loaded, but according to the link above you can. As far as your CCW, it means bumpkiss up here unless wherever it's issued has reciprocity with here and *that* I personally don't even know how or where to check aside from calling a county sheriff. Some local municipalities are more restrictive, but again, inside your vehicle shouldn't matter.

I believe AZ and CO have reciprocity in regards to CCW permits. At least my permit is accepted in AZ. Colorado law allows you to keep the gun in your truck. You can play it safe and store it unloaded.

Safe Passage also allows you up pass through other states as long as you don't stop (staying in a hotel or something over night). I'm assuming you'll pass through Utah. I think they have permit reciprocity as well though.

FYI the actual city of Denver has its own additional rules about guns in vehicles which may not apply elsewhere in Colorado. I am not knowledgeable enough about their specifics to tell you about them other than that they exist.

I think the main one is that open carry is not legal in Denver City limits. There might be more.

Just stopped for a drink in Ouray and have service.

I ran Last Dollar and Ophir yesterday. Camped at the base of black bear and planning to camp there tonight, hopefully the same spot as I’m running black bear and Imogene tomorrow. If I’m not at the location below keep driving...I’ll probably camp along there.

    GPS 37.89221, -107.72571.

Today I ran the Alpine Loop and tacked on Picayune Gulch. Amazing views. Took me 8 hours and got a bit turned around but I’m glad for the detours.

You might be talking to @Naveronski since he was who I was responding to. Just in case you two were potentially looking to meet up. Alas, I am stuck at 'home/work'. But that is a great area. We camped on the east side of Cinnamon one night, next morning went down to Animas Forks for breakfast and looking around, then up Picayune which loops almost back down to Animas Forks, but went the other way on up over California (from which you can descend to Mineral Creek, but instead we...), then Hurricane, then Corkscrew out to 550 and down into Ouray. Was a great day.

Yep, sorry. Tagged the wrong person. @Naveronski is probably out of service like I was

This is such a awesome area. That picayune Loop was incredible through the tundra. Then I spent like an extra 45 mins playing in mineral. I’m just having a blast.

I know you can carry in your vehicle legally without a permit.

I don't know what law covers that, but I got stopped for a suspected DWAI some years back and had my Glock with me. The cop knew the pistol was cool, as long as I was sober (I was), he returned it to me after all the freakin' drama was done (idiot cop).

    Thanks!

We did Red Mountain to Imogene today, now getting dinner in Telluride. Not sure what we’re doing tomorrow.

Wife read some reviews of Black Bear and wants nothing to do with it. Damnit.

Show her a picture of Bridal Veil falls and tell her you're going there. Don't mention Black Bear. :D

Yup, vehicle is considered extension of your residence. As long as it is stored off body IIRC

Got the switchpros wired up today. Now to decide where to put the arb twin. I have the mount for the bedside, with arb’s harness. Question is, I read in the installation, that if you mount the compressor farther from the battery, the slower it pumps air. Should I mount in the bedside or go under the hood?

    What hasn't been modified?
As long as you run propped gauge wire shouldent matter how far it is away from the battery.

Other questions is do you use the bed cubby currently? No then put the arb there. Yes, do you have space under the hood and want it there?
