Sounds like a good start. Thankfully your doing links!!

Bad thing about 37’s is they are in no mans land. Usually to much for a 44, but not enough rubber for a 60. I always struggled with 37’s.
Great thing now is having RCVs at your disposal. That takes care of most people’s problems.

Not saying we didn’t do it though...

It is a good option, just have to make sure gear selection can match up in the rear.

    So it’s 35s max with a 44 or 40-42s with a 60?

If you want to invest into a set of RCV’s on a 44, 37’s will work.

This is just my opinion, but 39-43” tires are D60 territory. In the past 3 years, I only had one little hiccup, and my full circle clips popped off a joint up at Rangely. But I was doing some ridiculous shit as well.

    Trailer repair!!

If you're keeping the Toyota rear you shouldn't have issues since the deepest ratio is 529... OTOH you can get 4.56, 4.88, 5.29s for the 9"

I have some 609 parts sitting in my garage :)

Funny, we do night runs on Patriot just to make it more challenging.

Breaking down there at anytime would suck ass though.

    I ran 37's with a 44 for years on that 72 Scout with a transplanted Chevy 350.
Broke stub shafts every so often, but only when i really hammered on it.
So they are definitely on the ragged edge of being a good pair.
It's like running 35's on ifs.

Good God. That would still suck.

These kinds of trails though, are not for anything less than trailer queens to test the limits on.

So Colorado people, what are good shops in the Fort Collins area for installs on shocks/CO's on a Tacoma?

If someone was really smart they could capitalize on the whole pelfreybuilt thing and start their own company. Or it could be really stupid since most people still gave their money to them. Who knows. :notsure:
