Well...it was his first time dealing with an insurance claim and expected the adjuster to have morals and ethics, not familiar with the fact that corporate America cares about the bottom line and nothing else.

His car didn't get fixed before he signed for a check that covered a small percentage of the damage and they told him to pound sand when he tried to get it repaired. The body shop quoted the realistic price which was much higher than the check. This happened in a relatively quick timeframe.. Wasn't drawn out over months.

And it was Oklahoma (or somewhere in that area) legit softball sized hail...pretty impressive damage for a couple hits it took.

So you have a quote for "x" amount to perform the repair. For some reason you take a lesser "y" payment and sign finalizing papers? Why was only a portion of the damage covered?

Eh because he talked to insurance who gave him a quote and a check. He didn't check with an actual body shop until he had time which was a week or two later. Not sure what company but it was one of the main ones. Yes, he should've got a body shop quote first because you can't trust your insurance company, but he didn't know that.

Those who have money...do as they please. My complaint to the state insurance commissioner went exactly nowhere because Allstate said they didn't say "x." Commissioner gave zero fucks that i had..and still have a recording of them admitting they fucked up, and had no intention of making it right. Shit happens and you move on.

I'd try and stay away from the "get rich quick scheme" that others are mentioning. Listen to what they offer and see if they are genuine or just acting like it is no big deal.

You deserve some additional compensation for the hassle they caused, yes. Judging by the pictures there is nothing close to a total loss. I would demand a equivalent loaner and the truck fixed to before condition. I'd pressure for an extended warranty that is bumper to bumper with zero deductible and some accessories to make up for your carfax caused depreciation. Make sure the owner is there, not just the shop managers. The dealer principal is typically the owner/vested so that is who I'm talking about.

Weird, I've never had an issue with asking an insurance company for additional repairs to a vehicle. They usually come down, inspect and cut a check the same day. Lesser companies might question repairs but cave in easily with logical explanations of repairs needed. All this is usually without even contacting the customer. Some companies will even go as far as to fix other pre-existing conditions just to keep the chance of having to warranty the work later out of question of accident damage or not.

Yup, that's what makes sense and should happen. But he ended up only fixing what his check covered and leaving the rest since he didn't want to pay the rest out of pocket for cosmetic stuff...just minor beauty marks

He was driving when he started getting pummeled, I've been inside vehicles during Colorado pea and slightly larger size storms and can't imagine huge things beaming at me while in a car.

    Looking to hike, climb, drive?

Easily accessible stuff would be corona arch (short hike), anything in the area of Gemini bridges has a lot of easy hiking, biking and off-road trails. Its a longer hike, but you can park at the start of the goldbar rim trail and go up to the edge... Awesome views, but no shade, bring water!

    Screenshot_2018-07-16-21-39-12-1.jpg

Restaurants.. I've had Mexican food that was good..think that's it.

If you follow the road to corona arch you can take the scenic route past dead horse state park (i think that's what it's called) and pop out by Canyonlands, island in the sky. The southern point in islands in the sky overlooking the confluence and the white rim is another epic spot.

Take the Fiery Furnace tour in Arches. Drive out to Chicken Corners over Hurrah Pass. Hike out to the end from Grand View Point in Canyon Lands (Island in the Sky - not sure if you're going down to Needles or not) and personally I'd recommend taking the highway up early in the morning and then coming down either Long Canyon by Deadhorse as @Stig mentioned or CR142 if you want to drive down the Shaffer Trail to where it meets the White Rim from within the park (there's a spot to stop on a cliff a few hundred feet above the river and it's right at the horseshoe bend below Deadhorse). Negro Bill Canyon (apparently they're now calling it Grandstaff Canyon on some maps/places) is a nice, short, not quite slot canyon back to an arch right outside of town; Corona has already been mentioned. If you like pizza, Zax is a must (probably my favorite place in town), Eddie McStiff's is pretty good, and the shakes at the Moab Diner are really good. Blu Pig isn't bad either, but I'm not a bbq snob so...

Soooo much to do in that area, four days goes by in a blink.
