Reassembling the engine... The steel stick sends to adhered well. When i got home yesterday, there was a slight sheen from that cracked area, so oil was coming from it. I sanded, cleaned, sanded and repeated until there was a good texture to adhere to. This morning i tried to peel it off with fingernail and screwdriver and couldn't get behind it along the edges, so hopefully it works.

I ordered a 12pt hex/double torx/super tool which is holding me up from removing the trans and working on its leak(s).

Tempted to put the engine back in to test it out, but at the same time.. Don't want to, just to have to pull it next week. Trans is covered in a thick coat of nastiness, i also ordered a full gasket set for it.

This is murica, do what you want.. As long as your not in my rig. I don't want your flailing body flying around and killing my belted in self that would've otherwise survived. :p

Get a silencer. Best $5 I've spent. Like the reminder light when on road-trips. My good buddy gives me shit for it though.:lalala:

I can get scrapes on my roof... Doesn't mean i need a roof skid.

And you're either rock crawling...which is just expensive part consumption (and damage seems to be a goal, not something to avoid) or not picking your lines very well if your doing that much bashing. :p Granted, you're just decreasing your ground clearance with those things, so you're much more likely to drag them over stuff that you would've usually cleared.

    Smooth is fast.

Seriously, I've said this many times. The only reason I have LCA skids is because I won them at a raffle. I would not buy a set to run in the name of protection.

When in doubt, send it. :D

But in the end, it's just my opinion... I ran for two years on stock skid plates with sliders as my only armor. I ran trails i probably shouldn't have been on, but was willing to take longer to back up to get the right line, or last resort of proceeding, use rocks or maxtrax (used them on one of the ledges on red cone). If that didn't look like it would work i was happy to turn around vs bashing stuff.

It's your money, use it how you want. I'm working on a 74 bug that isn't anything special, and people might think it's dumb but i think it'll be a fun project and will get me experience for the next bug build...which i plan on thrashing the hell out of.

Prescribed burn in twin lakes has everyone all excited that weston is on fire again.

So i wanted my pin(topo) stripes to be close...but i might've went too close. I think I'll still lay some down and see what it looks like.

That's the weirdest looking pinstripping I have seen. Did you tumble through some bushes?

It’s coming along just finished the driver side. If I have the weekend off I’m going to build a sub box. Going to be interesting since I never built one before.

Thanks. Kinda want to do it to the tundy for fun.. But don't want it to be a pain to remove them later.

I didn't want it to stand out too much, but was shooting for the pin stripes to be darker than the paint. But hard to tell colors online.

When are you getting rid of the Tundra? We just did 1000 miles without the camper in tow and I forgot how amazing the Sequoia is road tripping. Thing just cruises.
