People wonder why I'm happy to bash Toyota...equally with the majority of the other manufacturers.

Nobody cares about innovating anymore, just propping up BS to sell last year's junk over and over.

Its got 4 wheels and keeps your tubby butt from walking everywhere. What more innovation could you possibly want?

I seriously don't like the "innovation" that is coming to vehicles of late. More products to disconnect the driver's focus from the road and "safety features" that are supposed to help when they are distracted when in reality still need an alert human eye.

Absolutely this. Couldn’t agree more. On top of the “safety” aspect it’s just more shit to potentially break or fail causing unneeded expense. If only people could just pay attention while they drive....

There's a theory that the safest vehicle on the road would be made entirely out of glass with a sharp steel spike in the center of the steering wheel.

You would think the driver of that vehicle would be extremely careful to avoid accidents.

I had a slightly firery conversation on tundras.com yesterday’s day comparing the raptor vs a tundra, one guy saying that the “purpose built/tech packed” raptor is worth the 70k and that the tundra doesn’t compare to it at all. And thus the raptor is superior.

But he kept bringing up the fact that the tundra doesn’t have all the gadgets, and due to his train of thought and the the comments he made, I decided that all the modern gadgets are a modern adults pacifier to their technology dependence

Oh yeah... I would say that's safety innovation or gimmicks, not so much transportation innovating. That's just what the book is talking about, stupid gimmicks to justify forever increasing prices for the old garbage.

It's a page from Elon Musks biography by Vance.

Thanks. Looking forward to getting it done. Hoping it lives up the the hype that the car toys guys told me.
