They probably want more like 28-30k then. I’ve bought stuff on eBay but never a vehicle.

Yup it's pretty easy other than when you have shitty people. As long as you do your research and know what you're buying...and get plenty of pics, you'll have better chances/experience.

Purchased an s2000 on ebay without seeing it, sold it across the country on autotrader. Both transactions simple. I was out of town when the shipping company came to get it, they just had me leave the keys on the tire.
Purchased another s2000 without seeing it on s2ki and flew up to get it... was as described
Purchased my tahoe on ebay, flew up to get it and engine and trans were covered in built up fluid leaks, xfer case missing a breather (just open hole). He said it had no leaks and was maintained by his dad... a certified ASE mechanic. What a coincidence though, the seller turned out to be a politicians assistant. Had I known that, red flags for sack of shit would've stopped me from bidding knowing there would be lots of incorrect information.

Yeah, there were a bunch of pics and good ratings. But Tahoe was a much cheaper purchase so I wasn't as thorough and chalked it up as a lesson learned.

Anyone know how to make a quick buck outside of "normal work hours" 9-5?
I'm low on funds and won't be able to put any money into my truck for at least a year outside of necessary maintenance (oil/gas at this point since I took care of suspension and ball joints a month ago).

I'm handy, have great (sometimes excessive) attention to detail, don't mind doing random shit but my day job is sitting in front of a computer writing code and fixing complex problems.

Nope, that's completely dumb for my situation. My taco gets ~16 mpg and I fully understand the economics and hidden costs of driving a fake taxi in the gig economy.

I have many services, I just don't know how to list them all. I can teach your grandparents how to use a computer. I can teach your high school kid complex problem solving. I can do mechanical things, but I don't have a full selection of tools on hand since I'm kind of a minimalist that draws the line and then takes it to a professional (both not to have to spend all the time myself but also not to buy one-time use tools since I don't have a garage or storage).

Most of my skills are electronic, software and mental problem solving related. I have a huge breadth of knowledge and with a few subjects, depth.

Your ‘03 is too old for Uber in Colorado according to their website. The current requirement is 10 years old or newer. With that said, my ‘05 got me started with Uber in Montana and it did really well as a backup vehicle when the roads were shit in the winter.

Yeah, I have 5 seatbelts but it's too old. Either way, I know that I would lose money on trying to run Uber/Lyft with my truck between the cost of gas, extra maintenance, tire wear, etc. Also, nobody wants to listen to my music choices.

If you have to ask you don’t want to know. But @Stig has had great success on colfax.
P.S. you should check with him first if you do decide to go that route. Don’t want to step on his turf without his permission.

With some coding knowledge and drive I wouldn’t think it would be too hard to start a side hussle with some time and creativity. Being 2019 and the amount of people using computers/internet your skill set has never been as valuable as it is now.

If you’re looking for something different there is always free stuff being given away on Craigslist or Facebook (for free or stupid cheap) you can flip for a profit. Sounds lame, but if you need some extra $$ it’s something that is always there. Put in some hard work on weekends and know what stuff is worth and you can make a few extra grand a month
