I think the cheapest I've ever done was $1.50 and the worst was about $4.90 in Seattle

Yes, did that a couple times. Giving shit and pulling the turbo on the 6.0l. I replaced the one on my 03 after cleaning it a couple times because they updated the metals to resist rust and buildup on the veins. just one in a list of many replacements required to keep that pile on the road. My next diesel will be a 7.3 or a 5.9.

yeah, VGT is kind of a bitch but it is badass when it is working. I looked at a couple 5.9s but decided I would rather invest time and elbow grease in the 6.0 instead of paying the Cummins tax.

7.3s are nice but also pretty pricey. A friend is selling his dad's pretty mint 97 with low miles for $18k or so

After seeing several Excs in the 10-20k range I decided that wasn't for me lol. They are awesome rigs though.

Did they ever put the 8.1l in the burban?

I tow with a CCLB 2500hd with the Chevy 6.0l occasionally and it is very anemic with a vehicle behind it over the passes. It is part of my #deezuhl inspiration :luvya:

    hci?

The 6.0 chebby is a solid platorm, very strong and reliable. With some boost it will move very well.

I can't complain too much, stock it will tow 7.5k at 45-50mph over Vail pass but I wanna go faster and feel like less of a victim :luvya:

Around 0.76 cents a gallon back in 84. Jeep at the time held about 7 gallons. Tank was under the driver's seat too and leaked a bit.
Had to be quick to retrieve those dropped roaches.
was leaded gas too. Unleaded gas was just starting to make an appearance.
No vehicle emissions either, some of those old farm trucks in Northern Idaho spewed thick clouds of gray/black smoke from the exhaust. Was totally normal too, if it didn't smoke, was probably out of oil. My 64 Jeep CJ6, with the venerable Hurricane F4-134ci 4 banger, (not a flat head) always had a puff of white smoke between gears, from a little bit of rich carbonator mix. Ran better that way. Piston rings didn't care for it though.
Fun fact, when i rebuilt that engine as a high school project, the pistons had been knurled from a previous rebuild. Bet most of you didn't know that was even a thing. Top speed was 50mph, downhill, gas pedal to the floor.
Minimum wage was $3.35 an hour, cigarettes were still under a dollar. Nobody drank milk, just Coors Light and Bartles and Jaymes.
Maybe some Country Time lemonade, which had 0 natural lemon in it. Might have been the first powdered chemical beverage on the market.

Most for gas was whatever the highest has been here in Colorado. I think it topped one year at just over $3.00 and something a gallon.

Most i realized was $5.10 in death valley the other week. But on my road trip through Canada, adjusted for currency conversion and to dollars per gallon, i think it was around $5/gal the whole time. Thankfully i didn't do that math until near the end.

I'm sure I remember purchasing it for at our right under a dollar before for a low. Likely when driving through Georgia.

They are cheap and reliable. No frills. Look for decent service history as with any car and send it!

    Weird.

I thought your early pets are what turned into the oil we’re using now.

Oh I forgot, I paid way more than $6/gal when I drove around Norway, but I didn't save the receipts for that since it was a rental. It evened out though since the rental was getting something like 50mpg (VW Touran).
