Nice. I'm seriously considering MT as the next move. Love Colorado, but getting sick of the traffic and BS in the Front Range. Just need the last kiddo to graduate HS, save up some $$ and convince the wife....

@thefatkid are 3rd gen OEM Tacoma axles the same as 2nd gen axles? Found a deal on some 2016 OEM axles to replace the crappy aftermarket axles on the GX.
    Thanks

Edit: looks like they are all the same between 05-up Tacoma’s, FJ cruiser’s, 03-up 4runners. According to the CVJ website.

A small handful of select mods.
Actually @thefatkid explained to me that 4th gen 4r axles have different cages that allow for a larger degree of angle before binding. Which in part goes along with the 4th gen 4r longer travel then 2nd gen taco. The CVs you want to source will work though. I am keeping 2nd gen taco axles as spares to get me home.

Interesting. Guess I need to cancel my order then. I want proper CVs on the GX and then maybe another oem as a spare or just keep these crappy ones as spares.

Has anyone experienced the 3rd gen engine surging on manual transmissions mentioned in this thread? It's getting extremely annoying in this colder weather, and I'm concerned local dealerships here in Denver might put up a fight as mentioned in the thread, as the TSB's don't call out manuals.

Discovered a stereotypical meth lab/trailer trash setup out on Willow Springs.

Camper, tents, tarps, 4 broken down vehicles (one getting an engine swap), slide in camper, garbage all over, yelling people...this is why we can't have nice things.

Kinda hoping the sheriff is bored and gets out here before the fire burns out.

I did.. That's why i was hoping they'd roll up before we left. But they didn't. Just sad to see such garbage. Then called in an fj that had been sitting since Friday. Roofnest had been open since then (windows and doors) and hadn't seen anyone at the site the whole time we were there.

I’m not going down the rabbit hole by reading the thread, but I get a surge in 2nd only. It almost feels like a turbo lag, for lack of a better description. If that’s what you’re referring to, then yes. If not, then no. I’ve learned to ignore it. Not a big deal to me. It’s still a better truck in every way then my 2nd gen and my last Ram :bananadead:
