Wife asked me to take her to work this morning in Broomfield. Took me 1hr 45mins to get from Denver to Broomfield because of all the 2 wheel drives spinning out. City bus slid down the hill and blocked the intersection at Sheridan and 52nd, got out and pushed multiple 2wd cars/trucks so I could get around, Wads was closed between Ralston and 66th I believe. Semis stuck under the bridge and couldn't get up the hill.
Was a fun morning. Just got back to Denver. :burnrubber:

Anyone on here ever dealt with insurance claims and Replacing parts with aftermarket? I had some massive chunks of ice take out my fog light and part of my grill today on I 70 so probably will need an entire new bumper due to all the tabs being broken. Just curious about doing a winch bumper instead of an expensive ass plastic one again.

Take the check from the insurance company and buy your own bumper, buy heroin, the insurance company really doesn’t care... once they pay you the claim is closed and done with

    Thanks
I’ve heard that only applies to vehicles that are paid off now? I know I’ve done that in the past but it was like 10+ years ago...
I didn’t buy heroin though. Just a cheaper bumper...

Doesn’t matter if it’s paid off or not, once that check is in your hand, :spending:

The heroin was just an example

Make sure you get multiple quotes before you get them to write you a check. I am out $2k due to insurance writing me a check for the first body shop quote.

That's how I got my front bumper when my truck was still pretty new.
Couldn't find any decent heroin or even a heroine, so I settled for a plate bumper.

I might take it back to the body shop that estimated $2k more and say hey I want you you fix the front quarter panel and two doors and I will use the rest of the money for a aftermarket bumper. Then at least I will have a fixed sequoia with a bumper for all these stupid deer.
