Now hurry up and buy your suspension components and supply them in a large box for when the fully disassemble your truck and have to fully reinstall the suspension components! They may not even charge you labor for installing your new suspension that way!

You're not kidding. Free install on all suspension stuff. Half off all other repairs (e.g. replace rear main seal).

Was discussing suspension upgrades with Rob, master Toyota Technician @ Larry H Miller Toyota, who did my inspection. After hearing how I use my truck (i.e. land surveying from Mt Evans to Limon... rough rangeland / pastures to forest service roads in the foothills and anywhere I don't want to lug 40lb of survey gear if I can drive there... and what with typically 5-600lbs in the truck bed all the time), Rob suggested the AllPro Expedition rear leafs instead of the OME Dakars + D43XL extra leafs. He also mentioned a number of people being pestered / bothered by bad squeaking from their OME Dakars due to (friction?) pads wearing out (rather quickly). Rob took me for a quick spin in his personal 2000 Xcab with the AllPro Expedition rear leafs + Bilstein 5125's and (I think) Bilstein 5100's with Eibachs in the front. He had a Trailgear front tube bumper with a winch. The ride was "firm" (like a truck), not "plush" (like a Cadillac boat).

I've decided on an ARB deluxe bull bar front bumper at some point (primarily for it's reputation for protecting vehicles from animal impacts), and am thinking about this setup thusly:

Front: OME 2882 springs with 9004 Nitrocharger Sports
Rear: AllPro Expedition rear leaf springs, U-bolt flip kit with shock mounts to be fitted (welded), and either Bilstein 5125's --OR-- maybe Fox 2.0 rear shocks.

I'm tempted to say "screw it" and just go to a King 2.0 or Fox 2.0 front coilovers... but sheeitt... I've got to try to save some $$ somewhere.

What say yee TW'ers... what think thee of the above setup? Is it a mistake to mix an OME front end with an AllPro / {Billie or Fox} back end?

I looked to see if I could build front coilovers using, say Fox 2.0 shocks, with Eibach 600# or 620# coil springs... but my brief searching @Toytec Lifts website came up short on that count.

    Toyota's are awesome

We aren't (at this time) offering any FOX suspension systems, and as for KINGs only the 2.5's.

Feel free to call us directly or stop by our shop anytime so we can get into some detail about some specific options that we offer/ meet your needs and budget!

I prescribe MORE beer -- for the pain. Wasatch DoubleBock (8% ABV), New Belgium Trippel (8.5%), or Avery The Reverend (Quadrupel style @ 10% ABV). But someone makes a 15% ABV Belgian. That would work too.

well if you have an electric dryer and the proper electrical cord (heavy gauge for distance and amps) you should be in business.

You should come camp with me in TN where I have an unlimited supply of firewood. Then you will see a fire.

You just won the lottery with the frame replacement AND half off all other repairs! Honestly though, unless you plan on driving fast(er) or "spirited" as the kids like to say, the OME/Bilstein should do you just fine and save you money by putting those in front AND rear.

Springs hold up the weight of your truck and determine your ride height and carrying capacity with varying weight.

Shocks (/coilovers) keep you from being on a trampoline, keep your wheels planted on the ground as much as possible when bouncing around. I don't know the different pressures/rebound rates/etc of the OME vs the Bilstein or Fox offerings, but I don't think they would be different enough to matter much.

Check @Wheeler's Off-Road Inc and other options as well. I'm sure ADS would LOVE to sell you a custom set of coil-overs...

I see AllPro UCA's for $649. Light Racing are now like $699. TC, Camburg et al are up from there...

For a 3" 1st gen lift, are AllPro UCA's as good as all the others?

You should decide if you want a uniball style or ball joint UCA. Personally from all the noisy and corroded uniballs I have heard about and see, I would choose a ball joint style like JBA or SPC.
But a 3" lift is going to look a little bit much with your 30" tires you just got.

He's going 40's, it's just not part of the Toyota discount.

Edit... It's a business expense. Long travel it.

Can always buy bigger tires and sell the Duratrax-wannabees to Stig. :headbang:

But the several hundred $$ saved on the round donuts are going towards these other upgrades. So if I gotsto look ridiculous with a 3" lift and tiny tires... I will wear my 20mpg medallions with pride...

Probably won't be too bad, this is like 2.5-3" front and 4" rear with 31s..someone asked if I was compensating for something with my big tires
