Thinking of going fishing/camping at or near Lake Granby this weekend. Anyone fish at Monarch Lake or Meadow Creek Reservoir recently? How's the fishing up there?

Yeah, I tend to do a ton of research before getting into anything new. Still need to go watch @CharlieCafe weld his fingers to something. :D

@bot102 said Front Range CC has some welding classes too. Figure take that and get one of those U build kits for a metal firepit and throw some sparks and probably need a ton of grinding on welds.

Yeah, I did a lot of research into welding programs for a few weeks there. Pretty much the conclusions I came up with,

They all offer pretty much the same assortment of classes, but after that everything is different. From talking to all of them, feels like the Community College of Denver program is the most flexible with their classes, the quickest path to a certificate, and the one most aware of how important working with Veterans to make sure the classes are scheduled to get them full BAH allowance.

    Certificates Offered
    • Community College of Denver Advanced Manufacturing Center - Basic Welder, Intermediate Welder, Arc Welder, Fabrication Welder
    • Emily Griffith Technical College - Welding 1 Certificate, Welding 2 Certificate
    • Pickens Technical College - Welding Certificate
    • Front Range Community College - Welding Fundamentals Certificate, Comprehensive Welding Certificate, Creative Metalworking Certificate, Gas Metal Arc (MIG) Welding Certificate, Gas Tungsten Arc (TIG) Welding Certificate, Metal Fabrication Certificate, Oxyacetylene Welding Certificate, Pipe Welding Certificate, Shielded Metal Arc Welding Certificate,
How Long to get a Certificate
    • Community College of Denver Advanced Manufacturing Center - All certificates are 1 semester long, and they are stackable. So if you want to continue after the first semester, every semester after gets you another certificate. If you want to stop after one semester, you have a Basic Welding Certificate to use to find work etc.
    • Emily Griffith Technical College - Welding 1 Certificate is nine months long. (Two semesters). Welding 2 is another 9 months. (Two semesters)
    • Pickens Technical College - Offers one certificate that takes two years to get. (Four semesters)
    • Front Range Community College - Ranges from one semester to three semesters
    Percent BAH
    • CC Denver Advanced Manufacturing Center - 100%
    • Emily Griffith Technical College - 100%
    • Pickens Technical College - 50%

    • Front Range Community College - 75%

    Placement Tests Required
    • CC Denver Advanced Manufacturing Center - No Placement Tests. Math class, specific to welding, is taken alongside welding hands on classes.
    • Emily Griffith Tech College - Placement Tests for Math and Reading must be passed before registering
    • Front Range CC - Placement tests required
    • Pickens - They weren't sure.

Wow, listed a room for rent in Arvada Sunday night and already have a deposit for 8/1 move in.

    That was easy...

Of course I'll be using this money to build my truck instead of pay down my mortgage, duh! :burnrubber:

I haven’t driven it yet. I hope it’s not too noticeable.
Yeah I guess about 1/2 way. I’ll get one one day. For now there is just less material to drag.

So I just had my 2015 Taco in for 60k maintenance at an area dealer. They didn't ask and I forgot to mention that I always use synthetic so they put in conventional oil. Should I be concerned and swap it out now or will my engine be alright?

Dealership assures me the conventional has synthetic additives so it's kind of a hybrid plus gaskets don't have issue switching back and forth like older engines do. Obviously if I trusted them I wouldn't be asking here.

It’ll be fine, as long as the weight is correct.

Yep interval and weight are way more important with these trucks than type. I feed my truck whatever 5W30 is on sale and my used oil analysis comes back good.

On the other extreme my 250 with hydraulic injectors doesn't like conventional

Republic western insurance is easily the worst insurance company I've ever had the misfortune of working with. After reading their reviews it seems like my experience is commonplace; they give you the run around until the claim expires so they don't have to pay out.

They've "mailed a check" 2x now and I have received neither. My adjuster nor myself are able to get a callback from them but they sometimes respond to emails.

Thanks everyone. It’s the right weight so I’ll stick with it. Guess this is why I should stick to doing it myself

Hi fellas, my name is Everett. I wanted to introduce myself, been lurking on this thread for a while. I've accepted a job in Colorado and I am going to be moving to Colorado Springs this Friday. I hope to meet you guys in the future hit some trails, always down to help out on mod days (I've got a couple projects in the pipe that should be ready to work on later this month). Really looking forward to this move, I'm super excited. Thanks.

Hell no. Just looked like shit the way they all peel around the edges.

I hate it though. Must start new collection.
