I’m shocked it hasn’t happened yet. More shocked those plastic caps lasted as long as they did.

I just bought my first Tacoma. Rode my bike to Pueblo after looking online a whole night and finally deciding what I wanted to buy. My ‘16 Maxima received a massive hail storm in Pueblo in June. Found this truck with 4K taken off, and a manual. Luckily it was with both the tech, and premium package. It sold itself to me while on the test drive of 40 miles.

Long story short I’ve been messing around with running non-ethanol in my Honda 1000 RR, and the Tacoma. Took the Tacoma to the Pikes Peak Hill climb and did comms on a non spectating corner. That was a blast. Then two days later we drove to Vegas for the 4th. Used non-ethanol the whole trip and I have been more than impressed with mileage and power. Last fill up was Grand Junction 91 non, still have a bit over 1/4. Haven’t filled it yet I go back to work Sat night. But the Trip across the state I figured 27-28 mpg on 91 non.

The bike sure likes it. Tried 100 in Denver then rode to Central City to take some money from them then off to Breckinridge, and filled up in Divide. Did 172 miles on 3.6 gallons. Long story but no more crap gas for me.

He did me right, my Ford 10.25 had a seized piñon beading so I needed a new ring and piñon. He set it back up with Ford parts and my Ox Locker. We have those massive blizzards so no more getting stuck in at least one truck. Also have an Ox in the front Dana 60.

No that was driving home from Junction early in the morning not much traffic 75-85 except for Glenwood canyon. Got home with slightly less than 1/2 tank so needed 11 gallons to refill. 307 miles / 11 27.9mpg 91 non-ethanol.

I’m all stock just purchased 6-20-19. I put a bed mat in the back that’s about it. I have to use it as my commuter so I need mileage. I have been hearing about the switch to all E15 in all pumps that normally have E10. So that caused me to research and try it out. My 19 Honda 1000 RR will not accept E15 so I had to figure something out for it. The truck runs fantastic with it. My first real tank was Pikes Peak, I haven’t stopped using non since. I’m experimenting with my wife’s Murano now with non. I have the pure gas app on my phone so when we went to Vegas I used non exclusively last week.

Were you being towed on a flatbed? All downhill in neutral? Did you sprinkle fairy dust in your tank?

I drove by a couple Rebel stations down there, i noticed they had 110 on pump. The altitude is just amazing from here to Vegas. The Tacoma I noticed loved more air lol. 2 days ago I put a couple gallons of Sunoco 100 in the RR. I think I’ll be doing that more often. I’m back on a Honda I traded a 13 Hypermotard that I honestly didn’t like at speed and never felt like I could throw it into a corner and feel confident. So I finally got the ok from the wife to get what I used to have (09 Repsol 1000 RR) back.

Lol no really just driving home in the morning from Vegas. I’m impressed with this truck. I got sick of freak snowstorms and sweating getting home in my Maxima.

Ironically, the cheapest way to get high octane is with corn (ethanol). It's worthless unless you tune for it.

Yeah, I looked up some stories about it and they all were pure gas gets you the MPG award but the cheapest MPG is still Ethanol (up to 15%).

I haven't heard that. And it hasn't borne out in my experience. I had a Ford ranger that was flex fuel and when I ran E85, it got such terrible mileage that it wasn't worth running at even half the price.
I was talking about HP. And not HP from the corn because it actually has less energy than gasoline. The HP comes from the tune. A tune so aggressive that it would ping like crazy with regular gas. Ethanol is the cheapest way to boost octane. A higher octane rating does not mean more power, in fact it means slightly less. The only thing it means (in my understanding) is less volatility and a resistance to combustion solely from compression (like a diesel) that leads to predetonation (combustion before spark). This resistance to predetonation allows a more aggressive tune and higher compression which is where the power actually comes from.
In other words, it's a complete waste of money to run a higher octane than the tune of your engine requires.
