    This is probably true. 8.5" is the narrowest I would go. You can go narrower but would have to run lower air pressure to make full tread to road contact. Plus the right offset is needed to get the tires away from the control arm. You can always sell what you have.

    There is zero shame in 33s. It's a very streetable tire size. I ran 285s for a long time when my taco was a daily driver.
