Are you saying that the OME is a better deal than the Bilstein 6112/5160? I only have experience with 5100s which are the cheapest of the 3 setups.

From what I’ve read on here and researched, it goes basically stock>5100s>OME>6112/5160>BP51 full retard.

Uh, you haven't researched enough if you think BP51 is full retard...

Different beasts, but I love the 6112/5160 setup on my 4Runner. Super comfy. No experience with the OME, though.

Well yeah, there are even more insane products out there. But BP51 is like a $3k setup so I would say full retard even for most TW members lol.

Hey everybody. I’m your neighbor in Utah. I make it out to CS a couple times a year for work. Thought I would share my truck’s classified listing in case anyone was interested. Looking at getting back into a 4Runner. Thanks guys - 2017 Toyota Tacoma TRD Pro

I researched 1st gens... so that may have excluded 6112/5160 from my scope of interest.

I am stating that, IMO, full OME results in a better ride / better suspension setup than 5100s or 5100/5120s. (Or is it 5140s?) Part of that results, I think, from the softer spring rate of the OME coils. If the 6112/5160s have stiffer coils than the comparable 2nd gen full OME, then I think my comparison may still apply.

After all my research and fretting... my experience (thus far) informs me that if I had a 2nd Gen Taco that needed a new suspension, I would not bat an eye at just going full OME from the get go, can call it good.

The OME is a very popular setup. The price is between the Bilstein 5100 and 6112/5160 stuff. This won’t be a DD since I have the Penis Prius lol, for Uber and commuting. I do want to be able to Uber the taco in a pinch and use it a lot in the mountains, or when I can make it up. I’m tempted to go OME now!

Nope. Not since OV Tune ghosted the hell out of me with their K-Line option for 1st gens...

5100’s are crap. At minimum go with OME. Kings aren’t bad though!

I have the TRD Pro 6112/5160 Part # PTR13-35150. I got them during the big sale last year for less than $700. I love them, very smooth ride. I have no experience with OME.

I don't know where you came into this thread, nor if you read my post from a few days ago (20+ pages) describing my brief OME experience: https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/colorado-b-s-thread.131441/page-8346#post-21223098

I hesitate to use the word supple and certainly not velvety... but my OME's are riding with a soft firmness or a firm softness -- not sure which. When I hit a bump, I feel it, I hear it... but it is instantly damped and there appears to be no rebound. I am not floating over the ground or the bumps, rather I feel solidly connected to the ground, but with a soft firmness. Best way I can describe it. There is also a tautness to the way she steers -- way crisper than what she was before. Earlier I said I could detect no body roll. Paying a little more attention, yes, there is some body roll, but it is far, far less than before on the sagging, worn out stock suspension. (NOTE: as part of my frame replace, I received new, lower control arms. I purchased SPC Light Racing UCA's, so petty much the entire suspension is brand new. The control arms may be helping a lot here with the "crispness" I feel.)

IMO, you will not be disappointed should you decide to go full OME. HTH.

Is that a stinger on what looks to otherwise be a stock bumper?
