Early. I would also accept a beat up Bronco II as a base for a crawler.

A 1989 Centurion Classic 350, based on a Ford F-350 Lariat XLT Crew Cab. On a slightly shorter (140 inch) wheelbase than the pickup and with a short rear overhang dictated by the usage of Bronco bits, this bitza was available through Ford dealerships and offered a toehold against the Chevrolet/GMC Suburban. Expensive while new, it is quite rare today - especially so in the rust prone Northeastern US. This one has the 460 ci (7.5 litre) gasoline V8 engine.
