The picture doesn’t do it justice. That thing looked like it had about 8” of lift in the rear and not a bit in the front.

Maybe he only had time to put the rear in and he’ll do the other half this weekend.

I drove for three months with a 3” Lift in the rear, and a 0” lift in the front.

I know @Madjik_Man man passed on the bucket-o-rust 1stgen... but before Robert (Purple Team) @ Boulder Toyota inspected my frame, my mechanic threw my truck up on a lift and let me wander around under there for as long as I wanted. I walked around banging (well, maybe tapping) on the frame with a ballpeen hammer. Sounded solid everywhere. Yeah, there was some surface browning in blotches, but they all felt / sounded solid. Robert knew just where to check, and on the 3rd whack, he found the corrosion -- punched a hole clean through the frame. They had my frame approved for replacement even before they came to tell me the news (whilst I was still sitting in the customer lounge.)

So if anyone here comes across this post, and happen to be looking at a 1st gen that is somehow still within the 15yr frame replacement warranty, my only advice is to take it to a Toyota dealer and have a competent tech inspect it. I'd suggest the same for a 2nd gen -- sounds like they had issues too.
