I've accepted that he bought it as a father-son project with good intentions but it became my project in HS; I always hoped I could fix it up enough that he would want to spend time with me and take it out wheeling.

Even when it was in good shape we never went. He was "too busy". The jeep was never the problem. My dad was.

Is it over sharing hour? :luvya:

Yep. I did the same thing. When I crush my hood, I just Kung-Fu kick the dents out or Bruce Lee punch it due to being pissed (then pay for the next week due to my knuckles hurting).

Well you will enjoy this then. A CL post I did on a hood and grill...

    hood.jpg

    The ad:

    For trade:
Are you feeling like a pansy with your TJ on 31” tires? Well look no further; this will give you straight up rock crawling street credit. When driving to Kings Supers or the local Mall, people will have no doubt in their mind that you are hard core. There is no need to worry about door dings ever again since people will park no less than 40’ from you.
I am trading a slightly used grill/ hood off 2003 Jeep RUBICON. Notice the beautiful Intense Blue Pearl color hood and grill. Even the color screams “%$#@ Yeah!!!”
Don’t have cash for lockers, Atlas transfer case & tons? Who needs them with the RUBICON sticker on the hood that is almost readable…sort of. Your friends will not even question you about having lockers or 4 to 1. In fact, you most likely will not even have to prove it since most people are not hard core like you…yes YOU.
    Features:
Grill is already shelled out and narrowed for you. May need to buy a grill hoop, tube fenders or tubing work, radiator to add this awesome upgraded to your sissy TJ. While you’re at it you may want to buy a good used electric fan. If you want a used one, I can accommodate your needs. Some fan blades are missing, but those are minor details. Some Gorilla Glue and tape…Good. To. Go. This has no tabs to run your factory headlights, so an automatic upgrade is needed to some LED’s or high power flashlights.
Hood has a few small creases and dents, but totally usable for your needs. Notice how you can either use the factory hood tie downs or the aftermarket hood pins (or both). The passenger side hood pin grommet is missing. It is probably somewhere in Montrose. This could of blown off due to the monsoon rains and wind as of late in Colorado, or the stupid high speeds the TJ could get up to with the mighty 4.0L HO. You will not need it though; the downdraft of the hood should keep it in place. Jeep does their engineering homework.
So what do you need to do to get all this you ask? Well for the Grill and Hood you will just need to trade me your crappy, nicely painted grill and hood. Color doesn’t matter, but you are definitely getting the better end of the deal with the Intense Blue Pearl color. For good measure, I will also throw in the electric fan into the deal so you can be….HARD CORE.

All the time, but the failure rate is a bit higher than the success rate.

And driving up to the breeder’s house in FOCO to see the recent litter from our Bernese Mountain dog. Three girls:

The breeder has all of the puppies placed. We lost the puppies’ grandmother in July. But the circle of life continues as we bring the mother and one of the puppies back early October.

Can anyone confirm for me if toytec does returns? I bought some leveling spacers last week, decided to get shocks instead so I asked them if I can return the spacers to get some shocks but no one has replied to me yet so I figured I would ask you fellas. Thanks

This "project" started in 2005 when I bought the xtracab. The current phase got off the ground 3 years ago when I bought the Dcab. I have no plans on moving on from this one.
