I had read the whole thread about the drive line measurements, bought an angle measurement tool and took down all my measurements from the front drive shaft, rear drive shaft and the rear diff angle, seems as though im not within the 3 degree limit and why im hoping that installing the shims will get me within range to kill the take off shudder. Im not 100% sure which i have, (drive line vibe or axle wrap) because its a slight vibration, I can usually only feel it through the pedal, sometimes it shakes the truck but not bad by any means. I do not have the TSB leaf

Im happy with the truck, and just dealing with the vibe till i can install the shims, Its kinda an easy job im just lazy:D

Yeah 2 piece drivelines make it harder because there are 3 joints to deal with. Sounds like your on the right track, if it def feels more like vibration I would go with the shims first too

Sorry to keep posting about this but if the shims don't work then what? new leaf pack? stabilizing the leaf pack or just dealing with it. Which im totally fine dealing with it unless its going to cause abnormal wear to the truck.

Take it to BDM and get a full custom. He will make it sound the way you want. Neighbor here with Tundy had his done there. Sounds good.

6 inch pipe? Maybe the tips but not the whole thing. He rerouted mine with new muffler cat back for $300 out the door.

So you have the 2 inch aals in the back with the 5100s? I wouldn't think that would give you axle wrap like a block would but maybe because it's an aal and not a complete leaf pack?? Let me know when you decide to put your shims in and maybe we can do both trucks and see what happens.

I also looked at the cb tonight and thinking about what that other guy said about flipping the bracket. The bracket itself has arrows pointing toward the front of the truck so I wouldn't think flipping those to the back would work. I read somewhere that on a tacoma if you lift the truck you need to drop the CB and if you lower the truck you need to raise the CB. According to what I read, if you flip the CB bracket (upside down basically) it will raise the height of the CB for use with a lowered truck. I would think if that dude raised his truck that flipping the bracket would make it worse. IDK...

I know I have the vibe and the shudder with and without the CB drop although I believe the vibe is less harsh with the CB drop than without. Toytec told me sometimes adding both the CB drop and the shims will put the driveline out of whack in an over correction type of manner and to just try one then the other first. Problem is I don't have the tools to lift my truck. My jacks and stands work great for the car but not so much for the truck so if you have the means I'm more than willing to do some experimenting with my setup.

I need to get some pics of the truck I don't really have any.
